Volunteer Services Coordinator

AmeriCorps National members serve the community in direct service and capacity building activities.
What will you do?
The volunteer services coordinator helps recruit, train, schedule and recognize volunteers while growing the volunteer base and advancing individual and group partnerships. Market within the community to recruit new volunteers. Develop new events and opportunities for volunteers to engage with the mission of Habitat for Humanity.
- Typically serve Tuesday - Saturday to support work on the build site.
- Recruit and schedule volunteers for construction, office, ReStore, deconstruction, family services and special events opportunities.
- Assist with all aspects of volunteer management including orientations, maintenance of database, volunteer tracking and follow-up.
- Work with construction staff to ensure successful volunteer build days - signing volunteers in, providing orientation and safety briefings, helping put away tools with volunteers at the end of the day and ordering necessary volunteer supplies.
- Develop and/or revise volunteer recruitment, management and recognition tools.
This position will focus on brand management, fundraising, home construction, home repair, research, monitoring, and evaluation, virtual/digital systems and platforms, and volunteer services aspects of Habitat affiliate operations.

- Activities and attractions: Greater Springfield Habitat is in Western Massachusetts along the beautiful Connecticut River, and proudly serves the 23 cities and towns of Hampden County. This is a widely diverse area of both rural communities and urban cities. We are home to the Basketball and Volleyball Hall of Fame, the birthplace of Dr. Seuss and the Indian Motorcycle Company. There are many upstanding higher education universities and colleges in the community as well. We are approximately 2 hours west of Boston, 3 hours from Cape Cod, 3 hours from New York City, and 2 hours from both the Green and White Mountains, making this an ideal location for whatever your recreational tastes might be, from theater to hiking.
- Unique projects: This AmeriCorps member will participate in the rebranding of our annual fundraising event. Provide support for veteran and military volunteer engagement. Help to establish and create a volunteer appreciation system and thank you event.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, national or lawful permanent resident at least 18 or older and have a high school diploma or GED.
