The Opportunity:

Your combination of people skills and system administrator expertise makes you the team hero, solving one problem after another. With so much relying on complex systems, a skilled Systems Administrator can be the difference that makes a project successful. We're looking for a Linux Systems Administrator with specialized knowledge of modern compute technologies who can help us push new capabilities onto the most complex weapon systems in the world.

Your system administrator expertise will be vital as you identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical network. You'll help your team better understand the network by turning metrics into information and explaining their meaning.

We focus on growing as a team, so you'll share your expertise through leadership and mentoring as you help the team work through challenges and develop new methodologies. As a System Administrator, you'll identify new opportunities to modernize the network so your clients achieve their goals. Work with us and resolve daily challenges as we improve complex weapon systems.

You Have:

  • 5+ years experience as a Linux admin, including operating in a command-line only environment

  • Experience with cluster orchestration tools, such as Kubernetes

  • Experience with technologies, such as VMWare to create snapshots for testing deployments

  • Ability to write Infrastructure as Code for the development of advanced scripts to automate capabilities, including technologies, such as Ansible, Python, Bash, and Terraform

  • Secret Clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with pipeline tools, such as GitHub or GitLab

  • Experience with deploying to air-gapped systems

  • Experience with security scanning tools, configuring their use, and working with teams to fix vulnerabilities

  • Knowledge of applying STIGs to harden OS and SW installations

  • Security+ Certification

  • Top Secret Clearance

  • Master's degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,300.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
