Data Center Technician/Engineer

Location: Lynnwood, WA

Duration: Contract to Hire

Rate: $35-$42.00

Description:

Hours: Monday-Friday, work eight hours any time from 7AM-7PM ET

Description:

The Data Center Engineer will help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations. This position involves hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repair and may include participation in an on-call rotation.

* Maintain data center operations to ensure availability and reliability of service levels

* Conduct hardware and network diagnostics

* Perform hardware and network repairs

* Assemble and install equipment

* Create documentation and manage inventory

* Use troubleshooting skills and innovate solutions to fix complex problems within the Data Center space

* Perform maintenance of test and tools equipment

* Occasional travel to other data centers as needed

Requirements

* Computer Hardware experience (troubleshooting, assembling)

* Linux Operating System experience

* All physical requirements are expected with reasonable accommodations

* Candidates should be able to lift up to 50lbs and/or work in elevated locations

* Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with an ability to participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed

* Excellent time management, organizational and communication skills

* Must be able to prioritize tasks and react quickly to issues

Education/Experience



Hands-on OR educational based experience with any of the following areas:

* Computer Hardware, including troubleshooting and repair skills experience

* Data Center experience

* Computer Networking experience

* Python, Bash or other scripting languages experience

* Experience with Cisco IOS and/or Juniper JunOS

* An Associates Degree or equivalent experience in an IT related field
