Position Purpose |
The
Program Assistant coordinates and provides a wide variety of administrative, program, and academic support to the Program Director, the Program Manager and Design, and other colleagues; Study Leaders, Members, and Volunteers to maintain and increase program efficiency; serves as primary contact for members and visitors to the office; expedites and processes work to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the office of Osher at Dartmouth.

- Familiarity with Websites adding/deleting content and creating pages.
- Proficiency in graphic design tools, Canva or InDesign and techniques, with a working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite programs.
- Three years of office experience in a related field, with a high degree of autonomy.
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills with customer service focus.
- In-depth knowledge of office procedures and ability to increase efficiency.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite, Google suite, Zoom, and related office tools.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong writing skills, including proofreading.
- Excellent accuracy and detail oriented.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent time management skills, with ability to manage competing demands and evolving priorities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with fellow team members and program volunteers.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and actively contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Familiarity with working with an older adult population.
- Experience with Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
- Experience with using Zoom and able to explain to others how to use it.
- Physically able to re-set classroom layouts as needed.

Communications and Design - Designs and produces pieces for publication-through a variety of media-that markets Osher at Dartmouth and provides information to its members. Ability to work with photos and images to use in promotional pieces. Works directly with the Program Manager of Marketing and Design to create our weekly e-news, help ensure events and courses alike are being promoted through the various avenues: Valley News calendar, Osher's Facebook page, local town listservs, Dartmouth College events page, and Chamber of Commerce websites. |

Office Administration and Communication -
Creates a welcoming environment and friendly reception, serving as primary point of contact for customer service for all Osher members, including volunteers, study leaders, and visitors. Comfortable using Microsoft office programs with a high level of ease converting files to
PDF. Coordinates a variety of activities, working with colleagues, to support programs and functions. Ensures physical spaces are organized, shared resources are well-maintained, and that common spaces are utilized effectively. Makes sure staff coverage is provided for all classes (In-Person, Zoom, Hy-Flex). |

Description |
Program Technology and Course Support -
As part of the
OLLI at Dartmouth team, provides efficient logistical support for programs and events that engage our study leaders, members, and colleagues by setting up classroom equipment and assisting instructors with a variety of systems. Works with registration software vendor ProClass to address issues and request improvements. Acts as Office Liaison for program committees as assigned. Assists in running tech cafe's for our members and answering questions.
Support of Curriculum Committee - Assists in recruiting study leaders and keeping up-to-date records of an ongoing list of study leaders. |
