This on-site, part-time, 20 hour per week position will work Monday - Friday between the hours of 9am - 4pm. There will be flexibility in scheduling work hours, with supervisors approval.

Position Purpose
This part-time position (20 hrs per week) will be a shared between the BCB department and the bioMT and DartCF Programs within BCB. The Operations Assistant will participate in shared financial and administrative activities and will work efficiently with the various team members to support the department's academic and research goals.
Description
The administrative support position will be a core member of the Biochemistry and Cell Biology team and the bioMT and DartCF programs. The Operations Assistant will support the administrative functions of the department and its programs. This is a part-time, 20 per week permanent position.
Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp Associates plus 3+ years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications
Associate's degree with a major in business administration or accounting, or the equivalent work experience.

Description
Financial Administration -
* Assist Operations Director and Research Administrators with financial administration duties which may include:
* Processing reimbursements, interdepartmental invoices, and deposits for faculty, staff, and students.
*Completing and distributing core reports;
* Maintaining billing processes for contractual agreements with collaborating organizations.
* Researching transactions and accounting details.
* Performing reconciliation of procurement card purchases by department member; holder of the departmental procurement card.
* Performing data entry and may run reports in financial/administrative systems and databases.
* Coordinating and communicating about financial transactions with Geisel Finance Center.

Description
Planning and Coordination -
Provides support for the following activities:
* Coordinates and schedules a variety of activities including departmental seminar series.
* Coordinates and arranges special events (conferences, dinners, luncheons, retreats, etc.) including organizing logistics for speakers, locating and reserving facility space, arranging for necessary services, coordinating schedules and itineraries, and overseeing actual event.

* In collaboration with departmental colleagues, duties may include:
* Prepares a wide variety of materials such as correspondence, flyers, and handouts; proofreading to ensure accuracy.
* Assist with maintenance of departmental and program websites.
* Maintains office equipment and orders office supplies.
* Supports the office's mission to foster inclusiveness and diversity.

Description
Customer Service/Troubleshooting -
* Delivers exceptional customer service, ensures responsiveness and accuracy.
* Participates in customer specific training for department personnel in financial transactions.
* Interacts regularly with a wide range of internal and external constituents and staff members and conveys information on behalf of the department.
* Regularly handles confidential or sensitive information, exercises discretion concerning its disposition.
* Interprets, applies and explains office, department, and College policies and procedures.
* Communicates respectfully with a diverse community.
