Safety Engineer I

POSITION
SUMMARY:

The Safety Engineer I is an entry level
position and should have general construction knowledge and have a passion for
safety. This position will begin
learning proper ways to enforce company safety, health, and environmental
policies. This role will assist in
overseeing safety and work practices on construction projects to identify,
eliminate and control hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and/or
property damage using job specific safety standards, best management practices,
and injury free environment techniques.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Attend/assist weekly project safety training meetings.
• Assist in supervision & administration of safety/first aid & rescue activities.
• Assist in incident investigation & reporting with your assigned supervisor.
• Conduct jobsite safety checks and audits.
• Thoroughly understands all MCC safety programs & policies; clearly communicates & enforces such programs & policies to field personnel.
• Continually monitor project activities to ensure safe work practices are being followed.
• Participate in all regional safety meetings and safety committee meetings, contributing ideas for improving safety culture within the organization.
• Responsible for conducting themselves in accordance with our Guiding Principles and exhibiting attributes matching the Way We Work.
• Other duties as assigned.
