ATI is currently seeking a Lab Technician 6 (Machinist) for our lab department in our Monroe, NC facility. Qualified candidates must be self-motivated, able to work as a team, understand and follow work instructions, multi-task, and show attention to detail.

This is a night shift position from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am, working on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule. You will work 2 days, have 2 days off, work 3 days; then 2 days off, work 2 days, then have 3 days off. Training will take place on day shift.

METALLOGRAPHY PREPARATION (INCLUDING MOUNTING, POLISHING, AND ETCHING SAMPLES); USE LABORATORY MICROSCOPE TO EVALUATE GRAIN STRUCTURE AS TO SIZE, UNIFORMITY, INCLUSIONS AND OTHER SPECIFIED FACTORS; HARDNESS; MICRO AND MACRO PHOTOGRAPHS; AUTOMATED IMAGE ANALYSIS.



SAMPLE SAWING & MACHINING



OPERATE ABRASIVE SAWS TO CUT A VARIETY OF TEST SAMPLES ACCORDING TO DRAWINGS AND STANDARD PLANS; SET-UP AND OPERATE LATHE, CYLINDRICAL AND SURFACE GRINDERS, MILLING MACHINE, BROADER, DRILL PRESS AND OTHER MACHINE TOOLS



Skills:



  • Basic math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to read measuring tapes
  • Ability to read and follow written procedures
