Yamhill County has one regular full-time position for a Developmental Disabilities Licensing Specialist. Yamhill County Health and Human Services, Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD) Program is seeking to hire someone who has great interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication, is organized, energetic, and innovative to conduct licensing/certification for its Adult and Child Foster Homes throughout Yamhill County. The Foster Home Licensor/Certifier is responsible for coordinating the Adult Foster Home (AFH) licensing and Child Foster Home (CFH) certification and renewal process for interested people seeking to be licensed/certified by the Department of Human Services, Office of Developmental Disabilities Services. ODDS licensed/certified Foster Homes provide direct support to adults or children who experience intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as other disabilities such as mental health disorders.

The Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in any related field and one year of human services related experience.
OR
  • Associate's degree in a related field and two years of human services related experience.
Human services experience must include work such as providing assistance to individuals and groups with issues such as economical disadvantages, employment, abuse and neglect, substance abuse, aging, disabilities, prevention, health, cultural competencies, or housing.
  • A valid drivers license in the state of Oregon, or an acceptable alternative means of transportation.
  • Successful completion of a background check.
The Candidate:
We are looking for candidates that have excellent skills in organization, paperwork management, and communication - both verbally and in writing, in addition to typing and computer proficiency. Further, you must demonstrate listening and other skills which help clients feel comfortable sharing information, foster good public relations, and encourage team facilitation.
