The Society Partnerships Coordinator/Associate will be part of our growing Society and Partner Management team within the Springer Journals team. This role will support the implementation of our strategies on developing and maintaining society partner relationships--including acquisition and renewal efforts--across the Springer Journals team. This position will work closely with our Society Partnership Managers and Director, Society and Partner Management in tracking, updating and reporting on acquisition opportunities and efforts. This role will also work with our current society program, by supporting the SPM team in our efforts to strengthen existing partnership relationships, and enabling Publishing to have successful renewal negotiations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the SPM's effort to grow and maintain our society and partner portfolio of journals
  • Work with the team to maintain our pipeline of new business leads
  • Support the SPM's with implementing strategies for retention of current society partners
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on the development of proposals, P&L forecasts, presentations, and other materials in support of prospect and renewal opportunities from RFP receipt to final partner decision
  • Oversee SPM records on renewals and new business activity, working with various business teams to update and track activity and decisions
  • Correspond with internal and external stakeholders via email to answer inquiries
  • Own and maintain the department's shared inbox and email distribution lists.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, partners, and other team members to contribute to a culture that is mutually supportive and serves the needs of our communities

Experience, Skills and Qualifications
Essential

  • Bachelor's degree or related experience (3+ years)
  • Demonstrate understanding of working with with society partners, preferably in academic publishing
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to clearly articulate concepts and ideas
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to adapt to new tasks, workflows, and tools
  • Understand how to build effective and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders in a global environment

Desirable

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent publishing training/experience (at least 1 year experience)
  • Database management
  • Ability to learn and navigate web-based systems such as Salesforce and Microsoft Suite

US Annualized Base Salary Range: Coordinator: $45,000 - 55,000 / Associate: $62,400 - 70,000. The salary offer may vary based on work experience, education, skill level and equity. The US salary range does not align with the salary ranges in other countries when converted to the currency of that country.
