Your conscientious and positive communication style will allow you to work best with a team of seasoned professionals and play a key role in patient care and interaction.A7W/NCU is a 30-bed intermediate/medical telemetry level unit that serves patients who suffer from a wide variety of brain or nervous system disorders such as stroke, cerebral hemorrhage, seizure, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, Guillain-Barre, brain tumors and injuries, post-surgical craniotomy, spinal injuries, and central nervous system infections including meningitis and encephalitis. NCU staff receive specialized training in the neurosciences and are certified in NIHS assessment, swallow screen evaluation, and spinal immobilization. Certification growth opportunities include Certified Neuroscience RN (CNRN) and Stroke Certified RN (SCRN) through the American Board of Neuroscience Nursing and CCRN and PCCN through American Association of Critical Care Nurses.NCU is a proud recipient of the Joint Commission Primary Stroke Center (PSC) Certification and the Joint Commission Spine Center of Excellence Certification.
