POSITION SUMMARY:

The Race department supervisor is responsible for the daily guest and employee experience by leading the resort priorities and modeling our company's values. This is achieved through the focus on quality control. Guest and employee relations, staff performance and development, financial responsibility, communication, teamwork and administrative duties. They will supervise operations of Ski and Ride School programs, indoor and outdoor facilities, teaching areas, and will oversee daily staffing and lesson assignments. This position will work with the ski and ride School Director, other supervisors, and Rec Services Director as well as other resort departments to ensure seamless and efficient management of the school for all stakeholders

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for training, and scheduling of coaches.
  • Continuous growth and development of programs and development pipeline.
  • Maintaining great working culture amongst staff: safety, team focus, continuing education, mentoring.
  • Great problem solving skills with the resources available.
  • Develop and manage a high performing, professional and safety conscience staff.
  • Lead Race Department through all program registration, training, competitions to ensure a safe & successful season.
  • Work with USSA for coach certification and events.
  • Ensure venues are safe, secure and homologated where required.
  • Promote a safe, productive and enjoyable work environment.
  • Build, maintain and develop a strong team of individuals committed to external and internal customer service.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with National Governing Bodies (NGB) such as: USSA
  • Communication with participant families.
  • Scheduling and executing events for the season.
  • Organizing and assembling Race Organizing Committees to host high level events.
  • Ensuring that certain staff are holding and maintain required certifications for USSA
  • Hiring and obtaining event officials in which roles are not able to be filled internally.
  • Managing the Race Department and utilizing this staff across multiple roles to enhance staff utilization.
  • Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience coaching or teaching or competition involvement
  • 2 years employee management
  • Valid driver's license, USSA coach
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, PeopleSoft, Coupa, Concur
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, Spanish is helpful
  • Must be able Ski or Snowboard at Level 7 or better
  • Preferred Skills: Coaching, Alpine race course setting, IFSA comprehension, high level of safety
