MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:



  • 3 years minimum experience as Senior Systems Engineer supporting a DOD program of similar size and scope ($40M-50M, 35-40 personnel)
  • Active Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP) certification
  • 5 years minimum of hands-on professional experience as Data Center Engineer working with SDWAN or Hyperconverged Infrastructure for program/project of similar size and scope (25-50 personnel)
  • 3 years minimum of hands-on professional experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or IT related field
  • Possess IAT/IAM Level II or greater (e.g. Security+ CE, CCNA Security, etc.)


SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT. THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE TOP SECRET / SCI LEVEL

At the core of our capabilities is a seasoned team of highly skilled engineers and scientists with multidisciplinary backgrounds. This team is challenged daily to provide cutting edge technology solutions to our clients. SRC is searching for a well-rounded Senior Systems Engineer to lead the design, installation oversight, and quality assurance (QA) for Information Systems (IS) and Data Center for United States Space Command (USSPACECOM) command and control facilities. Manages and coordinates the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) design and provide installation oversight at a new facility by engaging with functional area managers (FAMs) and other engineers. Work supporting USSPACECOM will be conducted at the government's facilities in Colorado Springs, CO.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Designs, operates, manages, and maintains On-Prem Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) for the customer to include troubleshooting, break fix activities, the patching and remediation of servers, and system audit log reviews as necessary using designated technology (e.g. VMware Horizon or Citrix)
  • Performs actions as a Nutanix Administrator on Acropolis Hypervisor (AHV) platform
  • Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network, software, and system engineers, PC desktop technicians, project managers, end users, and customer and IT management
  • Works across disciplines to isolate issues between software, firmware, and hardware, between software and operating systems, between networks and applications, and between one-time events and recurrent systemic problems
  • Designs and documents installation and configuration solutions
  • Creates templates and machine images based on user requirements
  • Performs maintenance and patching of the environment.
  • Provides Tier 2/3 support for USSPACECOM J6X team
