The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the reliability performance, repair, and maintenance of mechanical devices in the plant, including but not limited to pneumatic and hydraulic devices. Additionally, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for the repair and maintenance of electrical devices consistent with the outlined experience below. This employee functions as a subject matter expert which includes reacting to process and equipment issues through troubleshooting, preventative and predictive maintenance, as well as elimination of special cause variation. Reports to: Maintenance Leader Span of Control: This position has no direct reports and operates as part of a Maintenance team of 9, which functions within the larger scope of the Lakeland plant at a headcount of 48.
- Strictly adhere to all plant safety practices, codes, procedures, and programs.
- Communicate with other plant personnel to identify, diagnose, and repair equipment problems and process upsets.
- Complete work assignments as instructed per Work Orders, obtain assistance as needed.
- Utilizes computer expertise to complete records, reports, and manage data (includes SAP, work orders, inventory, failure & trend analysis sheets, checklists, requisitions, audit sheets, etc.).
- Possess working knowledge of the Preventative and Predictive Maintenance System. Read and understand PM Task Job Steps. Accurately complete work as instructed, record required measurements, and identify and respond to PM deficiencies.
- Perform root cause analysis to include trend analysis, machine deterioration analysis, and vibration analysis and develop a plan to address opportunities to improve plant quality and efficiency.
- Complete the paperwork and computer notations associated with Work Orders, PMs, Parts Requisitions, Scheduling, and other maintenance processes.
- Identify required parts or supplies and utilize the ordering process to obtain them.
- Respond to plant process emergencies and/or upsets and safety emergencies with a sense of urgency and follow through to resolution seeking assistance where necessary.
- Be knowledgeable of the production process and what roles the major pieces of equipment play in making quality product.
- Actively participate in work teams and committees that are established to increase the plant's performance.
- Identify and eliminate waste in processes, procedures, and all other areas of the plant.
- Assist with bulk unloading of raw materials.
- Rebuild complex mechanical equipment such as valves, pumps, fiberizers, etc.
- Perform complex rebuilds of and modify all plant systems and individual equipment.
- Perform welding and basic pipefitting as well as hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting and repairs.
- Perform complex electrical troubleshooting and repairs. Read and interpret complex electrical schematics.
- Regularly inspect the work area to ensure all safety policies and practices are followed and a high degree of industrial housekeeping is always maintained.

- Ensure production schedules are adhered to meet shipping and sales commitments.
- Assist in and/or perform inspection, monitoring, record keeping and other activities that are conditions and/or requirements of the plant's Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, Spill Prevention Control & Countermeasures Plan, Air Permit, Storm Water Permit and Waste Water Permit; particularly those that are associated with material handling, spill clean-up, management of fluids and maintenance of all air emissions control devices such as bag houses and filters.
- Respond to internal and external customers in a professional manner and adhere to the Owens Corning Business Conduct standards.
- Participate in and completes special projects as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with respiratory protection policy.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5 years industrial mechanical experience
- 3-5 years industrial electrical experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
- Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions
- Must possess strong communication and organizational skills
- Must have the ability to multi-task
- Must have strong internal and external customer service skills

- Must have to ability to do basic mathematical calculations
- Must possess PC operational skills
- Must possess the skill level and experience of an Electro Mechanic.
- Must be able to secure and maintain fork lift drivers license
