Spectra Tech, Inc. is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist 2 for an immediate opportunity in Portsmouth, NH.
Responsibilities:
- Review and prepare procurement documentation relevant to quality assurance, quality engineering, and quality control requirements.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of processes, procedures, and applications aimed at sustaining an effective engineering, procurement, and program Quality Management System.
- Conduct onsite NCR investigations and verifications.
- Coordinate and/or perform audits and surveillances of quality-related engineering, procurement, construction, and ancillary project work.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Quality Engineer 2
- Strong knowledge and application of nuclear codes and standards, For Ex: 10 CFR 830 Subpart A, DOE Order 414.1D, ASME NQA-1-2008/ASME NQA-1a-2009 Addenda, ISO 9001, and U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Regulatory Guide Series or equivalent.
- Expertise in applying the ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code to procurement, fabrication, inspection, testing, and in-service evaluation of pressure vessels and piping.
- Experience in quality assessments, surveillances, audits, and Non-Conformance disposition and closure.
- Ability to interpret and understand various physical, mechanical, and electrical documents, blueprints, drawings, specifications, and schematics.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple organizations to solve complex problems.
- Hands-on experience in disciplines such as welding, nondestructive testing, geometric dimensioning, and tolerance.
- Familiarity with engineering, procurement, and construction practices, particularly in Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) and the application of the graded approach in an NQA-1 environment.
- A minimum of three years of experience as a Certified Welding Inspector (AWS-CWI).
- Current or previous certification in at least three of the following NDE Level II Inspections: RT, UT, MT, PT, VT, as well as piping or pressure vessel inspection and mechanical inspections.
- Ability to obtain or currently hold a Q-level clearance.
- Will serve as an onsite LANL representative at a vessel construction subcontractor's facility in either the Midwest or Northeast.
- Domestic travel required.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality assurance, industrial systems engineering, or a related field, with at least seven years of relevant experience.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience directly related to the occupation will be considered.
