POSITION SUMMARY

The Associate Director, Center for Workplace Mental Health position is responsible for execution of the Center's employer outreach and engagement strategy with corporations, business coalitions and other key healthcare stakeholders. The position coordinates the internal work of the Center ensuring quality and timeliness.

The position develops content for employers about workplace wellness and mental health, including employer best practices, employer trends, and other mental health topics of specific interest to employers The Associate Director engages with corporations to scale Center initiatives. The Associate Director, Center for Workplace Mental Health is responsible for the implementation of innovative and effective initiatives that meet employer and employee wellness and mental health needs. The position is responsible for partnering with the Center Director for strategic design, oversight and leading the Center's internal and external facing work.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Develop initiatives and content for employers about workplace mental health, including profiles on employer best practices, employer trends, and other mental health topics of interest to employers.


  • Research identified topics using scientific research and grey literature.
  • Write and develop content for employer audiences to increase understanding of complex issues and provide practical strategies employers can implement to improve mental health of their employees.
  • Facilitate editorial processes, including working with employer corporate communication, Center for Workplace Mental Health Advisory Workgroup, internal and external subject matter experts, and copyediting to deliver polished, professional content for publication in multiple communication channels.
  • Coordinate with the APA Marketing and Communications Department to develop communications and content in multiple formats (web copy, conference presentations, white papers, articles) and channels.


  • Manage day-to-day production of key communication channels, including website for employers (workplacementalhealth.org

    • Oversee grants management ensuring quality and timely compliance.
    • Manage production processes including working cross functionally with IT and Integrated Marketing to produce publication delivered by email to employers, psychiatrists, and other healthcare purchasing stakeholders.




  • Manage external vendors and coordinate and manage primary and secondary distribution to subscribers.
  • Track engagement metrics of Mental Health Works and website, analyze and use findings to continually improve experience of users and value of content to target audience.


  • Represent the organization and present externally at employer conferences, meetings and on webinars.

    • Represent the Center Director as needed.




  • Cultivate relationships among employers and identify leads for engagement and employer best practice profiles.
  • Develop and deliver presentations on workplace mental health topics to employer audiences at regional and national conferences and webinars.
  • Occasionally exhibit at conferences to promote programs and educational campaigns.


  • Manage educational campaigns and programs for adoption at the workplace.


  • Develop and execute educational campaigns employers can deploy in the workplace to reduce stigma, raise awareness about emotional distress, and improve access to care.
  • Develop and execute promotion and marketing strategies to increase employer adoption of educational programs and campaigns, including partnering with employer organizations, leveraging trade and national media, and engaging social media and other communication channels.
  • Collaborate with employers using educational programs and campaigns to measure the impact of programs on employee population. Work cross-functionally with the APA research department to ensure that scientific rigor is applied to measurement and analysis of results.
  • Identify opportunities to develop case studies, publish results in scientific and grey literature, and utilize findings in marketing efforts.


  • Contribute to overall program operations and activities.

    • Prepare and review reports for management and boards of directors.
    • Contribute to preparation of meeting agendas, materials preparation, and meeting notes and follow up activities.
    • Prepare dashboards and analyze program metrics to measure program impact and progress.
    • Develop and manage surveys of employers to assess impact of program, needs assessment, provide evaluation to stakeholders.

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS



  • Master's degree in mental health or human resources and 5 years' experience or bachlelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years' experience working in corporate employee human resources .
  • The role requires subject matter expertise in employer and employee wellness and mental health trends, needs, and solutions for large corporations or NGOs.
  • Stellar verbal and written communications, strong analytical skills, and proven ability to build relationships with employers and related stakeholders.
  • Ability to engage and work collaboratively with employers and key internal stakeholders to advance the organization's mission.
