Johnson County Mental Health is looking for qualified candidates to fill the position of Case Manager Assistant in their Children and Families program. They will work as part of a team to provide group and individual support to children, ages 3-18, with (SED) severe emotional disabilities both at the Center and within the community (school and home). Job Description

Job duties includes:

    Works one-on-one with the youth and family to provide the services needed to resolve issues and stabilize behavior - some examples would include teaching the youth skills necessary for successful relationships, implementing strategies with the youth and family for school success and working on developing independent living and self-sufficiency skills.
  • Facilitates Psychosocial Groups on a variety of topics including: problem solving, social skills, leisure time training, health and personal relationships.
  • Provides crisis interventions as necessary, which may including physical intervention and restraint to ensure the safety of the child.
  • Transports individuals receiving services to appointments and activities.


Job Requirements

Minimum Job Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent and one year of experience working in a human services field are required. May require KS/MO driver's license, depending on department or agency.

Johnson County Government requires reference/background screening for all positions. Specified criteria may vary by Department/Agency.

Preferred Job Requirements:

No preferred job requirements.

Education/Experience Substitutions:

Education may be substituted for experience.

Physical, Environmental, and Special Working Conditions:

Lifting: requirement varies by assignment.

Exposure to hazardous materials (bodily fluids).

All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments in a declared emergency situation.
