$64,480 - $77,327 Application Window Open date: August 1, 2024 Most recent review date: Sunday, Sep 1, 2024 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Thursday, Jul 31, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The Department of Pediatrics in the Division of Allergy, Immunology, & Rheumatology is seeking a Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. for a post-doctoral fellowship in the laboratory of Dr. Caroline Kuo. Applicants need to have a Ph.D. preferably in the fields of molecular biology, immunology, or a related field. The laboratory of Dr. Caroline Kuo focuses on developing approaches of gene therapy of human hematopoietic stem cells (HSC) for the treatment of inborn errors of immunity. Specifically, her research revolves around both viral vector mediated gene therapy and CRISPR/Cas9 mediated gene editing of HSC for the treatment of rare immune deficiencies. In addition, the lab investigates methods by which gene modification can be improved in the most primitive HSC. The ultimate goal is to translate ongoing projects to early phase clinical trials. Dr. Kuo has an excellent track record of productive research mentorship for research associates, post-doctoral, and medical fellows and collaborations over the last several years.
