Reporting to the Director of Sponsored Research & Programs (SRP), functions independently and proactively with decision-making responsibility to provide comprehensive administrative and budgetary support to principal investigators (PIs) and manage the coordination of program development activities for the School of Medicine (SOM), inclusive of highly complex programs involving large and/or multi-institutional collaborations. Individual is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the pre-award services and compliance, in collaboration with Director of SRP ensuring pre- and post- award compliance with federal and state policies and regulations. This role requires experience with NIH submissions, and the individual will be responsible for submitting proposals, including complex ones.
The customer audience includes a complement of SOM units (Dean's Office, the Division of Biomedical Sciences, the Division of Clinical Sciences, Center for Healthy Communities, Student Affairs, Undergraduate Education, and Graduate Medical Education), as well as collegial collaborators, external business partners, and community-based organizations. The duties of this position include, but are not limited to: conducting comprehensive analysis of a variety of funding mechanisms and awards; overseeing pre-award initiatives; reviewing proposals to ensure institutional compliance; submitting complex proposals; assessing and resolving complex contracts and grants issues; and participating in operational planning and training activities, and collaborating on post-award aspects to ensure continuity and compliance. In order to carry out these responsibilities, advanced knowledge of relevant regulations and requirements to satisfactorily meet government and UC reporting requirements for financial activities is required.

The salary range for this position is $81,500 - $150,100 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $115,000 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
