This opportunity is in the Claims Department.

Our Claims department oversees both high-exposure workers' compensation and liability claims. As an unbundled carrier, we work actively with third-party administrators (TPAs) and self-administered accounts to assist in guiding claims to a successful resolution. As an excess carrier, the catastrophic claims we handle keep our group challenged, but the uniqueness provides plenty of growth opportunities.

Role Description:

In the role of Claims Operations Manager (internally known as "Manager, Claims Operations") you will be responsible for oversight, performance, quality of work, and compliance with department policy and procedures of all assigned staff and their corresponding support functions. Reports directly to the Senior Manager, Operations.

Your day-to-day responsibilities as Claims Operations Manager will include:



  • Providing training and management of assigned staff and various support functions in the following areas:
  • Claim Reporting (FNOL)
  • TPA Fees & Maintenance
  • Claims Coordinators
  • Reinsurance Reporting
  • Claim Reports and Data
  • Medical Management Monitoring
  • Reimbursements
  • Claims Mail Imaging and Processing
  • Oversight of claim operations department management and ad hoc reports, KPI reports, report requests and validation of same as well as coordinating usage of claims data across the enterprise
  • Coordinating cross training among support staff, recommend staffing needs, participate in interviews with new candidates for support positions
  • Completing annual performance appraisals for direct reports, monitoring and tracking performance and attendance


Qualifications:
Education:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred


Required:



  • Dependable, detail oriented, analytical, organized, and self-motivated with excellent technical and communication
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel, Word and Microsoft Outlook applications


Preferred:



  • Minimum ten years of experience in insurance company operations, including relevant information systems preferred
  • Proven management and leadership capability, two to three years' experience preferred
  • Prior document imaging and insurance claims experience preferred

It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall near the middle of this range. Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience.
