Position Purpose |
As a key member of the Irving Institute's Teaching and Learning team, the
Experiential Learning Coordinator (ELC) stewards a portfolio of experiential and co-curricular educational opportunities to catalyze transformative learning that empowers undergraduate and graduate students to navigate and achieve an equitable energy transition. Reporting to the Institute's Academic Director, the
ELC collaborates with partners within and outside of Dartmouth to provide a range of on- and off-campus educational programs and assists Institute communications staff with storytelling on experiential program impact. The
ELC coordinates student grants, supports and advises students and student groups, provides support to the Dartmouth Energy Justice Clinic, and fosters continual growth in the Institute's student community. |

- Positive, solution-oriented attitude.
- Passion for working with undergraduate students and experiential learning programs.
- Knowledge of energy, climate, and environmental issues, including current energy system transitions.
- 3+ years of experience in program development, coordination, and management.
- Ability to prioritize, take initiative, and manage multiple projects.
- Strong writing, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Skilled in maintaining relationships with diverse partners.
- Demonstrated adaptability, flexibility, creativity, and collegiality.
- Ability to exercise tact, discretion, and independent judgment.
- Commitment to inclusivity and working with varied backgrounds.
- Proficiency in communication tools, social media, Google Drive, and Microsoft Office.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Knowledge of Dartmouth student community and programs.
- Study of energy and society systems or issues relevant to these systems.
- Study of experiential or place-based learning.
- Experience designing and successfully running a college-level grant or internship program.
- Experience with student advising/mentorship.

- Plans, executes, and evaluates Irving Institute experiential and co-curricular learning programs, including but not limited to energy immersion trips, bootcamps, hands-on course modules, and place-based learning experiences such as field trips and community work sessions, such as those offered by the Energy Justice Clinic.

- Proactively engages with diverse campus partners, including student organizations, academic departments, and centers and institutes, to foster collaboration and support the Institute's educational mission.
- Serves as a primary point of contact for students.
- Supports and advises energy students, student groups, and the energy and climate student community at Dartmouth, including the Dartmouth Energy Justice Clinic.
