The SVP Program Management Senior Lead will lead efforts related to reporting and analytics, senior management, board and regulatory related communication strategy, and execution oversight for the Risk Transformation Execution team. Candidates are expected to have a track-record in strong written communication for senior audiences, as well as experience within financial services risk management and / or regulatory communications. Ideal candidates should also have strong analytical skills to utilize data and be able to create and use data visualizations to assist in strategic communication. Candidates should have experience building strong partnerships with varied stakeholders, and be able to use creative problem-solving skills to identify potential solutions for cross-organizational challenges faced within Risk transformation.Strong understanding of effective risk management practices as well as thought leadership on meeting regulatory requirements will also be expected. Key Responsibilities: Candidate will be responsible to:
- Lead the strategy and development of Risk transformation updates to be provided to senior management and board members, including development of monthly Transformation Executive Dashboard which highlights program status, accomplishments and key challenges
- Structure and develop strategic governance forum materials for Risk & Control transformation (including Risk Transformation Execution Operating Committee, and Risk & Control Program Group Forum), meeting requirements as set by central transformation program office
- Develop materials to be used in various updates to the regulator, and provide inputs incorporated into regulatory Quarterly Progress Reports on the progress of the Risk & Control transformation book of work
- Perform strategic analysis and reporting of program health and program management, including forecasting of program progress to help identify areas requiring increased focus and re-direction of execution resources, as needed
- Lead development of ad hoc reporting for Risk Execution Lead, Head of Enterprise Risk Management and Chief Risk Officer as it relates to Risk transformation
- Review quarterly resource adequacy for Risk transformation, working with program leads to understand, document and explain differences against plan
- Support the identification and drive resolution of risks and issues at the overall Risk & Control transformation program level
- Monitor and track program risks impacting delivery and escalate to appropriate stakeholders as needed; ensure documented mitigation strategies are appropriate and followed
- Support identification of interdependent elements across the Risk transformation plan and other transformation plans, and highlighting risks and issues which may exist in the Risk transformation plan as a result of impediments faced in other areas
PERSON SPECIFICATION Qualifications
- 7-10+ years of relevant experience in Financial Services industry or Big Four consulting required
- Experience within a highly complex, global financial institution or related industry
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills with ability to engage at senior management levels
- Must demonstrate a commitment to quality and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, analytically, and creatively problem solve
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to comfortably interact effectively with senior internal clients and cross functional stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal skills, with evidence of working in collaboration across large organizations, including a proactive and 'no surprises' approach in communicatingissues/requests
- Understanding of relevant banking regulation and supervisory expectations for large complex financial institutions, particularly in the risk management space
- Ability to quickly come up to speed on multiple topics concurrently (e.g. risk frameworks, processes that are being remediated / transformed) to be able to understand program objectives and communicate effectively about them
- Preferred prior experience and understanding with one or more risk management disciplines in a large global bank environment (e.g. operational risk, credit risk, market risk, risk identification and assessment, risk appetite, etc.).
- Strong collaboration and influencing skills - able to identify and influence key decision makers across various levels and functions within the organization; defuse conflict and work toward agreement
- Well-developed listening skills and a strong ability to engage at the senior management level
- Self-motivated and detail oriented with an ability to take reasoned decisions under pressure
- Track record of managing internal relationships and demonstrated experience in leading sustained change and change management efforts
