Duties and Responsibilities |
- Asst. Sports performance coach develops strength and conditioning programs for student-athletes for assigned teams adhering with the policies, rules and regulations
-Provide a consistent and high-quality training experience responsible for safety and development of the assigned sport programs
-Enables student-athletes to perform to their physical potential in their sport through the development and management of individual and group weight, strength, and fitness training programs
-Develops programs by evaluating current physical conditioning, having a knowledge of the various sports and associated exercises, tailoring strength programs for specific needs, demonstrating proper performance of exercises, correcting mistakes
-Manages programs by monitoring progress and providing an assessment of development
Promotes commitment, teamwork and develops working relationships
-Establishes rapport with and ensures open lines of communication with the coaching staff, student-athletes of all teams, and athletic training staff
-Assists in the administration of the entire program, including assisting with daily weight room practices and conditioning responsibilities
-Provides an overall positive environment for the strength and conditioning development of all student-athletes
-Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds
-Other duties as assigned |
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience |
Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred. Two years of collegiate coaching experience in designated sport required. Understanding of and compliance with
NCAA rules and regulations and commitment to the mission of Jesuit higher education. |
Qualifications |
Bachelor's degree and
CSCS certification required; Minimum 1-2 years Experience in strength and conditioning on the university/college level; |

Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (
CSCS)

Computer Skills |
Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Internet and email applications. |
