Description

The purpose of this position is to perform research duties for the Gerber Laboratory at Dartmouth Cancer Center. The Gerber Laboratory is focused on determining the mechanisms that underlie signal transduction in cell division - both in normal cells, as well as those mechanisms unique to how cancer cells divide. To do this, the Gerber Laboratory utilizes a combination of cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology and mass spectrometry-based proteomics approaches, which will be central to the success of this position's responsibilities.

Key Accountabilities:

* Mentors and trains junior lab members, technicians and graduate rotation students - 30%.

* Performs experiments to advance Gerber Laboratory research mission and goals as defined by the Principal Investigator - 50%.

* Maintains clear, accurate and up-to-date records of activities, experiments, data and outcomes per standard laboratory practices - 10%.

* Reports on and disseminates findings to the Principal Investigator and other laboratory members - 10%.

Performs other duties as required.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:




  • Must have experience in cell culture, western blotting, molecular biology including cloning and CRISPR/Cas9 technologies, biochemistry including protein purification and in vitro analysis and assays, and mass spectrometry-based protein identification and quantification technologies, including data analysis and basic statistics.
  • Doctoral degree in biochemistry, cell biology, chemistry or similar degree is required.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • 1 - 3 years' experience in biomedical research is preferred.
