Dartmouth College: School of Arts & Sciences: Interdisciplinary Studies: Quantitative Social Science Location Hanover, NH Open Date Nov 06, 2023 Description The Program in Quantitative Social Sciences at Dartmouth College invites applications for a postdoctoral appointment. This appointment will be under the direction of Professors Herbert Chang (Quantitative Social Science, QSS) and Feng Fu (Mathematics). Areas of research interest include but are not limited to:
Qualified candidates should have a background related to one or more of the research areas described above and a keen interest in interdisciplinary collaboration. The initial appointment is for one year with possibility of renewal for a second year. In the second year, the position includes teaching one course, to be determined in consultation with both QSS and Math. The start date for this position is flexible, but could begin as early as January 20, 2024. Located in Hanover, New Hampshire, Dartmouth College is an Ivy League university that offers a close-knit academic community with global reach. QSS is an interdisciplinary program that integrates modern statistical, computational, and mathematical tools with social science questions. QSS has three tenured or tenure-track faculty and a steering committee across the college's departments, including Mathematics, Government, Public Policy, the Geisel School of Medicine, and Tuck School of Business. Members of the department have collaborative connections across campuses. Fellows should be highly motivated to engage with colleagues across multiple disciplines. In addition, postdoctoral scholars and graduate students are supported by the Guarini School for Graduate and Advanced Studies, including their diversity and inclusion initiatives.
