Position Title: Technology Support and Media Services Student EmployeeJob Description: Provide quality technical assistance as a student employee in the division of Information Technology.POSITION TITLE:Student Employee, Technology Support and Media Services STATUS: Part time DEPARTMENT:Technology Support and Media Services DIVISION: Information Technology REPORTS TO: Assistant Director Technology Support and Media Services CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt MINIMIUM PAY RATE: $14.00 per hour (Position is FWS Eligible) ESSENTIALJOBDUTIESANDKEYRESPONSIBILITIES 1. Answer phones and enter issues into IT ticket system. 2. Assist users with software and hardware problems. 3. Assist with the installation, maintenance, and replacement of computer equipment and multimedia systems. 4. Perform general housekeeping tasks on college owned equipment to ensure clean and sanitized technology equipment. 5. Assist with live events, webinars, and video conferencing. 6. Assist with the daily reservation, distribution, and setup of college owned equipment. 7. Perform general office responsibilities, including data entry and working with inventory. 8. Perform related other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. GPA of 2.0 or above. 2. Must be enrolled at JJC in at least 6 credit hours. 3. High School diploma or equivalent. 4. Excellent Customer Service skills 5. Strong verbal and written communication skills. 6. Attentiveness to detail, excellent organizational skills, initiative, and multitasking. 7. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 1.Knowledge of AV and Service Desk best practices and some recent work experience. 2.Willingness to work a flexible schedule. 3. English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency. 4. Demonstrated multicultural competence. PHYSICAL DEMANDS 1. Office and classroom clean-up will require the ability to kneel on the floor and/or bend at the waist. 2. Ability to lift and move equipment. 3. Power tools might be used. WORKING CONDITIONS Most duties performed indoors; some exterior may be required. Scheduled Weekly Hours: This is a student employee position that works around your class schedule. May work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. During summer and holiday breaks (Winter/Spring), may work up to 28 hours per week with supervisor approval.
