Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer / Technician to join a dynamic team. This role involves providing comprehensive service on industrial equipment used to manufacture Printed Circuit Boards, Solar Modules, Safety Glass, and Credit Cards. Your work will focus on maintaining high customer satisfaction through timely, accurate, and efficient service. Responsibilities:
- Install, commission, and maintain equipment at customer sites, including performing modifications and retrofits as needed.
- Develop and maintain detailed knowledge of assigned equipment and applications.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and calibrate products on-site and provide hotline support via phone and email.
- Address a variety of customer issues, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to ensure high customer satisfaction.
- Build strong partnerships with equipment operators and customer technical personnel to facilitate effective problem-solving.
- Provide training to customers on the effective operation, calibration, and maintenance of equipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and issue timely reports on serviced equipment.
- Support trade shows as needed.
- Maintain direct contact with the US Service Manager and Customer Support Team in Germany to ensure high customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Associate or Four-Year Degree in a related field (mechatronics, electronics/electrical or mechanical engineering) preferred.
- Three years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in control systems and electronic troubleshooting, as well as general electrical and mechanical service tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise judgment, discretion, and maintain technical knowledge of the equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical journals and reports.
- Fluency in English; German and/or Spanish is a plus.
- Willingness to travel extensively (estimated 80%).
- Must possess a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, a major credit card (for business travel), and a passport.
- Consent to a background check and provide references.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Work is performed at individual customer sites, occasionally requiring the lifting or moving of up to 50 pounds.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, and possible exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. Safety equipment must be worn, and safety instructions followed.
Salary & Benefits:
- Full-time position with a base salary of $68K - $78K per year, plus overtime.

Travel Requirements:
- Up to 80% travel is required, with extensive travel to customer sites across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Occasional travel to Germany for training will also be required.
