Description

The Washington College Department of Business Management seeks candidates for a full-time Assistant Professor position beginning August 2025. This position focuses on statistics, information systems and data reporting and intelligence and serves as the Program Director for interdisciplinary minors in Data Analytics and Information Systems.

Candidates should be prepared to teach Managerial Statistics, Information Systems, Business Analytics, and Enterprise Resource Planning. The course load is three courses per semester. Managerial Statistics focuses on analysis for organizations to make fact-based decisions. Information Systems is the ethical use of technology and data to achieve organizational goals and objectives, and is a required course for all Business Management majors. Business Analytics provides knowledge and skills when performing data collection and analysis to support decision-making in organizations. Enterprise Resource Planning Systems introduces students to software practice with integration to an ERP system. Both Business Analytics and Enterprise Resource Planning Systems are required courses for Data Analytics minors.

This is an opportunity for candidates who would thrive in a collegial environment that centers teaching, supports scholarly activities, encourages interdisciplinary efforts, and provides mentorship for junior faculty. Our department values the contributions of a diverse and global faculty and believes that multiple perspectives offer our students the best tools for critical thinking.

The successful candidate should have a Ph. D or D.B.A. in information systems, data analytics, or a related field (A.B.D.'s welcomed). Undergraduate teaching experience in business courses is required. Washington College is a member of the SAP University Alliance and the UiPath Academic Alliance and participates in Tableau for Teaching. Experience teaching SAP and Tableau is required along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Certifications in analytical tools, such as Power BI and Tableau are highly desirable.
