Position Overview

Position Summary:
This full-time position will serve as the career and transfer coordinator for the LEARN grant over the course of five years


Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:
Typical duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and manage the new Career and Transfer Center
  • Develop career-related workshops
  • Partner with four-year institutions to provide information/programming on transfer
  • Keep a library of career and transfer resources for students to use
  • Provide ongoing support for students who use the center
  • Offer virtual workshops as needed, especially for students who are taking courses on Mescalero Tribal land
  • Create Lending Library, keep inventory, accept applications, lend out items

Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience working with college students, especially in regard to support services
  • Knowledge of or experience in developing transfer and/or career-related programs
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience managing a project budget, including tracking purchases
  • Background working with Native American and/or low-income students is preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to develop and disseminate surveys and compile collected data
  • Ability to work collaboratively

Working Conditions

Physical Demand and Working Conditions:
Work is sedentary in nature that at times requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Work is performed during normal work hours, with some evenings and weekends to meet deadlines
