This position is part of our Connection Systems segment.

Summary:

The successful candidate will possess proven world-class experience in managing sales teams through high growth periods. He/She will be recognized for designing and developing organizational capability and talent depth in support of growth. A strong focus on customer satisfaction, sense of urgency and bias for action are unwavering requirements for this role. Ideal candidate will bring to the organization commercial excellence, market intelligence and best in class focus on building and maintaining customer relationship. The preferred candidate has already a robust expertise with major OEMs.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Regional Account for a major Detroit based OEM for the Connection Systems Product Lines.
  • This position will lead the CS Product Line's account activities with the OEM. The position has as mission to support existing business and develop and execute a strategy to capture future global business potential in NA
  • This position requires high level interface with the Product Line Management organization
  • This position represents a senior-level interface to the customer
  • The position holder will lead a team of Account Managers and Application Engineers to drive sales growth
  • Support the GAD in getting data about NA market and developing a strong regional customer intimacy
  • Establish proactive communication and relationship promoting confidence and trust
  • Create and maintain customer response mechanisms which in the event of issues arising complement local and/or single Product Line processes
  • Ensure APTIV maximizes its content per vehicle by supporting robust multi-product battle plans that results in profitable and sustainable growth
  • Additionally, and as necessary through an objective data-driven process enables portfolio decision making (e.g. price and 'givebacks') across our Connection Systems portfolio
  • Ensure customer demands are managed through the appropriate internal processes such that all responses are made within and consistent with our commercial policy
  • Create and drive deployment of strategic plan for customer through the operation of customer team and interaction with all relevant functions. Regularly report on progress to strategic goals and act to correct deviation/shortfall
  • Identify business development opportunities
  • Is accountable for customer profitability and revenue growth in the product line

Must Haves (Basic Qualifications)

  • Relevant University Degree
  • Proven specific customer expertise & product expertise is a key requirement
  • Experience in leading a sales team in manufacturing or technology industry
  • Track record in managing complex commercial discussions (auctions, disputes etc.)
  • Track record in establishing customer strategies and increasing revenue/growth
  • Strong managerial skills, drive, and a willingness to roll up their sleeves to get the job done
  • Strong motivation, sense of urgency, high-level of energy and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively work under pressure and to meet challenging targets
  • Vision and strong communications skills
  • Ability to earn trust from subordinates, peers and superiors
  • Ability to build a high performing team accountable for results
  • Able to set a strategic direction for the organization to stay ahead of competition and the game
  • Balanced in strategic thinking and implementation

Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications)

  • 5+ years of experience leading a sales team
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering
