The UCI School of Medicine is dedicated to advancing medical knowledge and clinical practice through scholarly research, physician education and high-quality care. The office of Medical Education oversees the education and training of medical students at the UCI School of Medicine, ranked as one of the top 50 U.S. medical schools for research by U.S. News & World Report. We are dedicated to advancing medical knowledge and clinical practice by offering a rich educational environment. We nurture the development of medical students, resident physicians and scholars in the clinical and basic sciences and support the dissemination of research advances for the benefit of society. Each year, we educate more than 400 medical students and train more than 700 residents and fellows at UC Irvine Medical Center and affiliated institutions. The medical school's 915 full- and part-time and 753 volunteer faculty members are involved in teaching, providing medical care and conducting research into the health challenges facing the 21st century. The school has 26 departments, ranging from basic science research to clinical medical and surgical specialties. It has research, clinical and teaching relationships with the VA Long Beach Healthcare System and Long Beach Memorial Medical Center.


Your Role on the Team

Applies acquired skills, process, and policy knowledge to support professional health education program learners. Coordinates program operations, which include teaching and learning activities, program curriculum, learner scheduling, maintaining databases, tracking learner compliance, and program accreditation. The Specialist will support the technology-based Simulation Program, Ultrasound Program and the Standardized Patient Program.


What It Takes to be Successful

  • Basic knowledge of administrative analysis and operations research. Acquiring skills in developing and implementing processes and systems. Familiarity with the administrative and operational implications in a program.
  • Basic knowledge of relevant policies and regulatory requirements. Basic knowledge of health professions education industry.
  • Knowledge of educational technology and systems. Ability to troubleshoot and triages related technology issues.
  • Technical diploma or Associate degree in technology or health-related field is required.
  • Communication skills; includes verbal, written and active listening. Service oriented and responsive to questions and requests. Ability to interact in a professional, resourceful, and courteous manner.
  • Investigative, data analysis, and reporting skills. Ability to generate computer reports, checking for errors, correcting and submitting accurate reports. Skills include entering, maintaining, extracting, and analyzing data in electronic systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills, analytical, and demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to work with extremely complex faculty calendars / schedules requires extremely well organized and detail oriented precision.
  • Knowledge of patient simulation services, technologies and applications.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred. (For specialized positions, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology or Engineering is required).
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to develop working relationships within department and with learners.

Required:

  • Technical diploma or Associate degree in technology or health-related field is required.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $45000- $70000 (Annual).
