Location: White Sands, New Mexico - White Sands Missile Range

Type: Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Full-time, Day Shift

Compensation: $24.49 - $24.49 per hour

Skookum is seeking a dedicated and hard-working Material Expeditor with a positive attitude.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Read production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock, and order priority.

  • Examines material received, verifies part numbers, voltages, and checks for discrepancies, such as damaged or unmarked parts.

  • Locates and distributes materials to specified production areas, manually or using a hand cart, hand truck, or forklift.

  • Records and maintains perpetual inventory of quantity and type of materials and parts received, stocked, and distributed manually or using a computer.

  • Compiles and maintains records, such as material inventory records, production records, and timecards.

  • Drive van or work truck to vendor warehouses to check status, receive parts, deliver supplies, as needed.

  • Maintain professionalism both in appearance and in demeanor.

  • Act as back-up and fill in for Material Coordinator in his/her absence.

  • Have a working knowledge of tools and parts for Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) & General Facility Maintenance trades.

  • Maintain a clean, safe and organized tool room and warehouse areas

  • Check out and receive tools from the tool room area.

Qualifications:

  • OSHA Forklift Certification required.

  • 6 months of warehouse operation experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.

  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.

  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.

  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

  • A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum's insurance.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
