Position Title:Director of Business Risk - Wholesale Banking Business Unit:Commercial Banking Reports to:Director of Wholesale Banking Operations Position Overview: This position is primarily responsible for executing first line risk programs in support of and/or in consultation with the business lines within Wholesale Banking.Wholesale Banking includes the business lines of FNB which cater to businesses and high net worth individuals. This individual will play a critical role in the risk management lifecycle, including risk identification/assessment, risk mitigation/control, monitoring/reporting, as well as testing. Additionally, this role will partner with business line leadership in ensuring timely identification and escalation of risks and issues. Primary Responsibilities: Supports first line of defense activities through objective risk and controls self-assessments, development and monitoring of key risk indicators, analyzing operational risk events, monitoring and reporting of key risks (including new and emerging). Supports the development of first line of defense risk management and reporting to drive risk conversations, accountability and awareness. Develops and implements improvements to risk and control processes to mitigate operational, compliance and regulatory risk across supported business lines. Proactively identifies measures to resolve or prevent potential downstream issues. Gathers, analyzes and reports on risk data to support risk appetite and risk reporting. Provides risk management consulting to supported business lines in designing and implementing risk mitigation strategies, business processes and business controls. Leads and performs control testing across supported business lines to ensure positive client experience while complying with regulations and FNB's defined risk appetite/policies. Drives effective Issues management protocols by ensuring issues are properly documented, mitigation activities are reasonable and achievable within timeline and statuses are tracked through closure. Collaborates effectively with second line of defense and third line of defense on critical risks and deliverables. Represents the support business lines in applicable enterprise initiatives and risk forums and serves as a key communicator of enterprise changes and initiatives that will impact the business lines and processes. Leads efforts in the development and recording of committee materials. Assess impacts and provides education on current and emerging issues and regulatory requirements to key leadership of supported business lines. Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.
