As a Lead Systems Engineer you will lead, motivate and mentor team members. Determine strategic direction. Serve as technical escalation point. Oversee progress of team related projects. Act as a liaison to other areas of information technology and business partners. Ensure the stability, confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the enterprise information technology systems.


Job Description

As a Lead Systems Engineer you will lead, motivate and mentor team members. Determine strategic direction. Serve as technical escalation point. Oversee progress of team related projects. Act as a liaison to other areas of information technology and business partners. Ensure the stability, confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the enterprise information technology systems.

Essential functions

* Leadership

* Delegate responsibilities

* Keep abreast of changes in standards, technologies, and methodologies.

* Give direction and guidance.

* Oversee and assist with team project work.

* Produce standard operating procedures and other documentation as needed.

* Deliver technical training.

* Attend and participate in meetings.

* Participate in the change management process.

* Participate in IT Assessments

* Participate in the budget development process.

* Conduct Data Center testing and maintenance.

* Execute system maintenance and testing.

* Assist with incident response and testing and assist with root cause analysis.

* Performs other duties, as assigned.

Servers, Storage, & Desktop Support

* Performs deployments, configurations, and upgrades of systems.

* Must have working knowledge of hypervisors (Hyper-V & ESXI/V-Center)

* Must have experience with management, implementation, and migrations from on premise Exchange systems to Office365.

* Must have an intimate knowledge of management of Office365 which includes but not limited to the following:

o Applying Best Security Practices

o Managing & Troubleshooting Intune, Exchange, and other issues

o Management of other Office365 Applications (SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.)

o Implementing & Managing Microsoft MFA

* Working knowledge of Microsoft Server 2008 to present Operating Systems

* Working knowledge of "next-gen" antiviruses including CrowdStrike or Carbon Black

* Able to architect/design and implement enterprise-wide solutions.

* Monitors, tests, and troubleshoots the health and performance of systems tools and applications.

* Creates and maintains documentation.

* Performs system updates and patching.

* Performs system backups, and trusted recovery testing

* Monitor, test, and troubleshoot the health and performance of desktops tools and applications.

* Monitor anti-virus, phishing, and other potential security vulnerabilities.

* Configuration of SANS

  • On-Premises Exchange
  • ConnectWise Automate (Or other RMM tools)
  • Office365SharePoint
  • Next-Generation Antivirus (Crowdstrike, Carbon Black, etc.)

  • Nimble Storage
  • Netapp Storage
  • Dell Servers
  • ConnectWise (Or other RMM tools)
  • Imprivata (Or other Identity Providers)
  • HA
  • DRS
  • Load-Balancing
  • DNS
  • DHCP
  • Active Directory
  • Group Policy
  • TCP/IP
  • Linux
  • LAN/WAN Connectivity
  • Mail flow
  • Permission Delegation

Qualifications

* 6-10 years' experience in Server Management and system administration

* 6-10 years team leadership experience

* Experience working in enterprise environments

* Experience working in the Senior Living industry or Health care is a plus

* Experience migrating on premise data center to the could

Education:

* Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or 6-10 years equivalent work experience in a related field

Licensure/Certification:

* Certifications from the following organizations/specializations will be applicable:

o Microsoft/Office365

o VMWARE (ESXI/Horizon/V-Center)

o Veeam

o Security-related certifications
