Summary of Position: Part-time doctorate-level teaching and related responsibilities at on- and off-campus locations and online. Applications will be held until vacancies occur, when qualified candidates may be contacted.
This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes semester-by-semester.
This posting is used for face to face and/or online instruction. For in-person or hybrid teaching positions, candidates must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. For courses that are taught 100% online, the candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan, Illinois (excluding Chicago), Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Ohio, or Wisconsin after acceptance of employment.
Position Type: Faculty - Temporary & Continuing
Required Education: PhD, EdD, or JD relevant to the Doctorate in Community College Leadership (DCCL) Program.
Required Work Experience: Applicants must hold or have mid-to-high level leadership/administration experience in a community college or other higher education organization. Applicants must have teaching experience within higher education.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: Doctoral teaching experience.
Online teaching experience.
Certificate in Online Teaching.
Relevant administrative experience in community colleges.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Teach doctorate-level courses in the DCCL program via mixed delivery.
Faculty members also have professional responsibilities which may include but are not limited to: keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students), and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance (ex. reporting initial student participation data and submitting final grades on time). Faculty may be required to teach off-campus or in an online environment.
Demonstrates understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Support, promote, and develop University student enrollment and retention initiatives.
Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.

The anticipated start date of this position is January 2025 at the earliest and May 2025 at the latest.
