DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The casework performed in this position is comprised of two distinct roles: Investigating allegations of abuse and neglect and providing ongoing support for children and families. Every day your work will present you with different challenges which may include investigating allegations, working with school partners to remedy truancy, collaborating with mental health providers to serve the needs of children and families, or testifying in court in support of efforts to protect children from suspected abuse or neglect. You will work face to face with children and families and the see the positive impact you can make in their lives firsthand. Support your community with our team!

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    1. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
