General Summary:

Manufacturing Engineering - Planner is responsible for all planning functions for the fabrication and installation of detail parts and assemblies to the aircraft by creating visual and written work instructions for multiple systems and structures and maintaining the build sequence of the aircraft.

*This is a Contingent position with our company (1-year or longer)*

Duties and Responsibilities:



  1. Plan sequence of installation, assembly, fabrication, and other production operations to ensure efficiency and on-time delivery of work instructions.
  2. Utilizing Teamcenter, maintain the master build sequence of the aircraft adjusting the build sequence as required to maintain efficiencies, create visual work instructions, incorporate cost reductions, and eliminate unnecessary disassembly, travelled work, and non-conformances related to planning.
  3. Create planning for engineering driven changes against obsolete parts in-stock, as directed by leadership
  4. Create and maintain the master MBOMs
  5. Support Corrective Action investigations and resolutions
  6. Support addressing issues with planning affecting the issuance of the Certificate of Airworthiness against the aircraft


Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:



  1. Associates, B.S.M.E., B.S.A.E., B.S.I.E., or B.S. Mfg. Eng./ Eng. Tech. preferred
  2. 5+ years experience in creating and maintaining planning documentation, either visual or written
  3. 5+ years manufacturing experience with fabrication, assembly, and/or installations
  4. Experience in composite drilling, assembly, electrical harness and avionics installations, and sheet metal fabrication a plus.
  5. Experience with GD&T a plus.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  1. Ability to read and interpret 2D/3D drawings/models and technical specifications
  2. Knowledge of configuration management and the creation/maintenance of MBOMs
  3. Ability to convert complex processes into easy to understand and followed instructions
  4. Ability to identify, evaluate and develop solutions to complex problems
  5. Excellent oral and written communication skills
  6. Ability to communicate and work in a team environment to solve problems
  7. CATIA V5/ V6 experience is a plus.
  8. SAP experience is a plus.
  9. Teamcenter Manufacturing/Process Planning, creating MBOM's and BOP's a plus.
  10. Knowledge in MS Office Software Suite


Physical Requirements:



  1. Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors.
  2. Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, climb ladders, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
  3. Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.).
  4. Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
  5. Comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safety instructions with no restrictions.
  6. Effectively communicate in Business English language.
  7. Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties.
  8. Pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/people/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided "reach assistance technology" or "movement assist technology" (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly's, robotics reach equipment, people movers etc.), as required by job duties.
