Senior Security Engineer - Data Security ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT

The Senior Data Security Engineer will be an engineering role dedicated to the technical development, maturation, and maintenance of data security solutions at Vystar. This position will be involved in the development of a comprehensive and holistic program to ensure the security of data for VyStar's members and employees. The data security engineer will have a broad exposure to the Financial Technology business and IT landscape including security, infrastructure, network, endpoint, and emerging technology standards and trends. This position will work closely with Data Security leadership for the development of the Data Security program and the prioritization of efforts to drive measurable improvements across the enterprise.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides subject matter expertise in the delivery and operation of data security solutions concerning data discovery and data loss prevention.
  • Performs analysis of data loss prevention and data discovery events to assess risk and improve VyStar's data security posture.
  • Support completion of operational and project deliverables related to the Data Security program.
  • Ensure solutions adhere to Information Security policies and that data security controls are embedded in all new technology initiatives at VyStar.
  • Maintain security controls for compliances and regulations required of VyStar for Data Security.
  • Operates and implements data security solutions across supported systems and applications with accompanying documentation.
  • Develops and acts with holistic security mindset while successfully analyzing business risk and remediation effort, to prioritize efforts and projects and not impact productivity.
  • Communicate highly technical content to various audiences ranging from client engineers to executive management, including mixed audiences.
  • Operates independently and effectively ensuring alignment with data security directives and priorities.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related field is preferred, but not required.

CERTIFICATIONS

  • A Security+, GSEC, ISC2 CC certification is preferred, but not required. Career development plan to include certifications upon hire.

EXPERIENCE

  • 4+ years Information Security experience.
  • 3+ years Data Security experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Demonstrated self-starter with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate Information Security related concepts to technical staff both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate with all IT teams on security-related incidents, tasks and projects.
  • Ability to work productively while remote and communicate effectively in a virtual team and on location hybrid work environment.
  • Ability to work within agile and waterfall project methodology.
  • Ability to stay current with new technology.
  • Knowledge of DLP best practices and configuration rules creation
  • Knowledgeable of protection solutions and technologies for Data Loss Prevention
  • Experience & Knowledge implementing and managing Data Security solutions.
    • Data Discovery, Identification & Classification
    • Data Security Posture Management (DSPM)
    • Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
    • Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB)
  • Experience utilizing security and data governance best-practices for Data Security solutions.
  • Knowledge of banking and financial industry IT environment preferred.
