Summary:

In this role, you will provide strategic contracting and sourcing expertise while leading a team of portfolio and pharmacy executives to enhance supplier relationships and member value. This individual will have contracting oversight and responsibility for a diverse portfolio of pharmacy product and service categories. An outstanding leader with strong business acumen to lead, expand and develop program strategies, develop new relationships in the industry, and build an advantaged acute and non-acute portfolio. Excellent decision making and creative problem solving skills with the ability to thrive in a highly matrixed environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement targeted business development strategies and build a strong team to successfully support the Vizient Pharmacy program.
  • Ensure alignment of business strategy with overall corporate and business unit strategic objectives related to contracting activities that meet member needs.
  • Manage general operations including contracting, competitive bid process, budgeting revenue, and marketing of a pharmaceutical portfolio.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, member councils and task forces, and individual hospitals and supply chain executives to ensure delivery of supply chain needs.
  • Provide leadership, motivation, and guidance to portfolio and pharmacy executives to support portfolio growth, member satisfaction and supplier relationship, and achieve goals and objectives that align with the company plan. Keep the team focused on strategic initiatives and goals that will advance our business and collaborate across various teams to break down barriers to ensure success of the program.
  • Effectively manage supplier and member relationships to optimize outcomes and maximize contract compliance across product offerings.
  • Develop and mentor team members (direct and non-direct reports).
  • Review and identify categories for clinical innovation and new business opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree required. Master's degree in business or healthcare related field is a plus.
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience in a pharmacy sourcing and/or supply chain management role is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrates strong strategic and rigorous analytical agility with the ability to understand complex business issues and opportunities, while using sound judgment to set objectives and direction to drive results. Keeps abreast of industry trends and regulatory requirements to ensure alignment with customer needs.
  • Excellent leadership skills with a proven track record of delivering results with a customer-centric mindset.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to effectively build relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders and clearly articulate the company's vision and mission.
  • High accountability for their actions and results and ability to ensure a high level of commitment to the success of the organization, your peers and customers.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional interaction skills, including presentation, verbal, and documentation.
  • Willingness to travel.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $102,400.00 to $168,800.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
