Job Summary

The Print Buyer strategically sources printed materials that contribute to manufacturing schedules and pricing established in a fast pace environment. They also maintain a high quality of materials received. The Print Buyer obtains, reviews and clarifies client specifications from Outform's Account Project Managers and delivers back estimates that meet all requirements at the best price. The Print Buyer demonstrates an understanding of the printing and fabrication domain for temp, semi-temp, and permanent displays in-store.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with project managers and suppliers to improve a just-in-time program to minimize lead time and cost
  • Shortens product lead time by updating and tracking panel of suppliers' on time delivery and taking corrective action in line with the aim of achieving continuous supplier performance
  • Procures sample parts as required
  • Analyzes buy history and shortages to determine best method of procurement and expedite according to work order start dates
  • Develops and monitors supplier performance metrics
  • Updates costing after verification by our vendors
  • Manages all purchase orders: correspondence, quotes, etc.
  • Maintains open communication with our suppliers on lead-times
  • Works effectively and professionally with inter-departmental personnel

Qualifications

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • 4+ year print buying experience purchasing print on a wide variety of substrates including paper, foam-core, corrugated, magnetic and plastics
  • 2+ years sourcing print including identifying and qualifying new suppliers
  • 4+ years of experience working with internal and external partners, obtaining and providing estimates
  • Experience and knowledge of: Litho printing, Silk-screening, Digital printing, Mounting, Die Cutting, Assembly, Kitting preferred.
  • Able to read and thoroughly understand blueprints, engineering CAD drawings and is able to interpret for proper pricing
  • Has strong math skills, especially involving percentages
  • Experience working in Project Management Systems is a plus
  • Experience working in D365 is a plus
