Responsibilities

    Lead and work with a team of professionals in developing traffic and transportation planning, safety, and engineering solutions for multimodal transportation projects
  • Conduct traffic and safety engineering analysis, including design and operational focused analysis
  • Research and interpret transportation data, community statistics, and demographics
  • Perform roadway and intersection design
  • Prepare written planning documents, technical memoranda, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reports

Skills and Attributes

  • Understanding of transportation engineering roadway design principles
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail
  • Enthusiasm to learn and ability to take responsibility
  • Familiarity with the following systems: Synchro/SimTraffic, AutoCAD or Microstation, Word, Excel, GIS
  • Familiarity with national and local transportation engineering standards, including AASHTO, MUTCD, and/or ITE guidance documents
  • Understanding of highway safety fundamentals
  • Preference for familiarity with Highway Safety Manual (HSM) and related tools and techniques

Qualifications

  • 5-8 years of transportation and/or traffic engineering experience
  • BS in Civil Engineering or related field of study
  • PE license expected, EIT required
  • Experience with AutoCAD or Microstation preferred
  • Experience with traffic analysis software (Synchro, HCS) preferred
