Your Role:

The Senior Systems Analyst reports to the Sr. Director of Enterprise Architecture will be responsible for ensuring that Vital Farms derives the maximum business value from our systems that support our Record to Report functions spanning across Accounting, FP&A, and Sales, resulting in efficient and effective business operations and regulatory compliance. This individual leads the planning, designing, implementing, and supporting cash application, trade management, and associated systems at Vital Farms. They will collect and analyze business requirements, optimize business processes with business stakeholders, define system requirements, complete application configuration, and development, test, and end-user training and support.

They will be responsible for Anaplan, Blacksmith, and High Radius's smooth functioning and any future Record to Report-related applications. With a focus on continuous improvement and eliminating redundancies, they will partner with Farm, Plant, and IT stakeholders on process and system enhancements, thoughtfully building and managing in alignment with Vital Farms' mission and values.

What You'll Do:

Strategy, Architecture, and Training Responsibilities



  • Work closely with the Sr. Director of Enterprise Architecture and various business stakeholders in defining business requirements and shaping the long-term direction of the Record to Report application architecture platform
  • Facilitate organizational strategies for governance, design, implementation, integration, and usage
  • Ensure that the use of applications within the Record to Report application architecture platform enhances our Running-the-Business abilities
  • Project Management & Communications for new implementations and platform enhancements
  • Review all updates to the Record to Report application architecture platform and ensure there is no impact on the overall architecture and integration with downstream systems
  • Collaborate with L&D to curate a training plan for end users


Change Management:



  • Drive adoption of the Record to Report application architecture platform and supported processes across the organization by delivering high-quality, reliable, and scalable technology solutions
  • Foster the creation of a process-driven culture, related competencies, and business process literacy across the enterprise
  • Provide training and support to end-users on financial systems and processes, including creating user guides and conducting workshops


Record to Report Application Architecture Platform Responsibilities



  • Analyze and design IT systems and processes related to the Record to Report cycle, ensuring they align with business requirements and financial regulations
  • Ensure the Record to Report application architecture platform is configured and optimized in a manner to support business operations effectively
  • Identify opportunities to reduce the level of customizations made to the Record to Report application architecture platform by leveraging out-of-the-box functionality and off-the-shelf bolt-on technology
  • Create and maintain a robust process for managing new and existing Record to Report application architecture platform integrations
  • Researching, identifying, and resolving Record to Report application architecture platform integration errors or failures
  • Direct all configuration, customization, and application development activities, ensuring the team adheres to a standard SDLC process
  • Ensure adequate application support, maintenance, and system administration capabilities are in place, enabling maximum end-user productivity, uptime and availability, and IT efficiencies
  • Lead the implementation of new systems or enhancements to existing systems that support Record to Report activities
  • Build and manage Record to Report application project timelines, budgets, resource capacity planning, and prioritization to align with internal and external resource availability and other competing company priorities
  • Ensure that the Record to Report application architecture platform technology conforms to SOX, SoD, and regulatory compliance-related requirements
  • Ensure controls related to approval levels, user access, routing, etc., are established and maintained in the system
  • Implement and monitor controls to mitigate risks and ensure data accuracy and security
  • Work with the Finance & Accounting team to establish internal controls as they relate to SOPs, compliance, and financial audits
  • Collaborate with IT Leadership to define SLAs, KPIs, Cost to Serve Budget, and Metrics for performance reporting to be used within IT and distributed to business stakeholders
  • Stay current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and financial regulations.


What You Bring to the Table:



  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years' experience in Record to Report application management - Experience with Anaplan, Blacksmith, and High Radius preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Ability to travel 25% for team meetings, company offsites, employee onboarding trips and other business needs
  • Proven experience in project planning and management experience, leading and deploying cloud-based ERP and business application projects
  • Proven experience in analyzing existing customizations and determining the viability of leveraging out-of-box functionality
  • Experience integrating ancillary on-premises and cloud-based business systems
  • Experience with system design and development, starting from business requirements analysis through implementation and support
  • Considerable knowledge of business theory, business processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain & Finance Functions; Quality Assurance/Quality Control
  • The ability to show a high degree of initiative, adapt to changing organizational and operational needs, and continuously meet deadlines
  • Strong organization skills, prioritization, and attention to detail, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously within a flexible work environment
  • Strong attention to detail and a desire to consistently "peel the onion" to uncover opportunities for improvement with our team and our business and vendor partners
  • You demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders, from crew to IT partners to executives
  • You are a highly autonomous individual who is performance-driven and personally committed to ensuring all milestones are met on time
  • You are highly organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities and deadlines at once
  • You are able to lead and engage in creative problem-solving with both internal and external partners to identify barriers and come to mutually beneficial solutions
  • Proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
