The Trade Compliance Specialist II will oversee compliance with import and export regulations, ensuring that all trade activities align with legal and company requirements. This role involves preparing export authorizations in accordance with federal regulations to support international business initiatives such as program and contract authorizations, employment of foreign persons, manufacturing abroad as well as sourcing and development relationships with foreign entities.
Essential Functions: Prepares Trade Compliance licenses and agreements in accordance with federal regulations to support international business initiatives, including employment of foreign persons, manufacturing abroad, sourcing and development relationships with foreign entities. Manages technical exports for business stakeholders. Manages export declaration and HTS classifications process. Assists in export and import coordination and tracking. Conducts training sessions for employees and assists in developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal regulations. Establishes and maintains relations with government licensing authorities to ensure the company's position on licensing and technology is conveyed, understood and accepted. Develops and conducts audits of internal controls and procedures by examining artifacts to ensure compliant transactions. Assists in external audits and inquiries from US governmental control agencies such as Customs, DoS and DoC through data gathering and corrective action execution. Provides general export guidance on regulatory requirements to stakeholders. Coordinates import and export activities with Customs Broker. Conducts training sessions for employees and assists in developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal regulations. Supports external audits and inquiries from US Governmental control agencies such as Customs, DoS and DoC through data gathering and corrective action execution. Completes jurisdictional analysis for product development to support business strategies in a compliant manner. Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience; or Associates Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Substitution of additional relevant education and experience in lieu of degree may be considered. Preferred Additional Skills: Proficient in MS Office. Ability to collaborate and mentor.
