Position Type:Permanent Full Time/Part Time:Full Time

Open Until Filled.

$3,497.95 to $3,847.75 biweekly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Government Center/Viera. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Performs skilled professional engineering work coordinating, planning, designing, reviewing, inspecting, and/or implementing assigned projects for the Public Works Department.May supervise subordinate staff.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering PLUS five (5) years of experience in engineering which is related to the area of assignment; OR Bachelor's degree in Engineering related to the area of assignment PLUS four (4) years of experience as a Brevard County Engineer I in a section related to the area of assignment. Supervisory experience is preferred.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid State of Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license, in accordance with the requirements of Florida Statute 471 and maintain said license in an active status during the term of employment.In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
