Purpose

The Development Specialist, Membership & Sponsorship position provides essential support to deliver TPA's membership and corporate sponsorship programs at the highest level. TPA's popular membership program is rapidly growing, with the potential for making substantial impact at TPA. This position is poised to help continue the membership program's growth, through project management; event planning and implementation; membership communication coordination; benefit deliverable fulfillment; and on-site member lounge management. The role will also manage TPA's corporate sponsorship deliverable fulfillment, including events, communications, activations, and reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Texas Inner Circle Membership Program Coordination: Manage implementation of membership benefit deliverables. Lead member event planning and implementation in partnership with Associate Director of Development and TPA colleagues. Manage event communications: create and coordinate correspondence and communications, including drafting copy, working with the Marketing & Communications team on design and delivery, and responding to guests. Maintain and develop lists for save the dates, invitations, RSVPs, and attendees; manage data entry related to events.Process all necessary event forms, manage day-of-event support, pre- and post-event communication, and promotion. Manage maintenance, staffing, and guest experience in member's lounge in Bass Concert Hall, in collaboration with TPA's Guest Services and Ticketing teams. Support membership campaign communications and program expansion, including annual acquisition mailing, renewals, and regular membership communications. Communicate with Texas Inner Circle members, providing exceptional customer service and building strong relationships with key members and donors

  • Corporate Sponsorship Coordination: Execute corporate partner event planning and implementation in partnership with Associate Director of Development and TPA and UT stakeholders. Coordinate with TPA Marketing & Communications department and external partners to fulfill corporate visibility and recognition deliverables. Manage in-venue corporate activations. Manage mid-year and end-of-year reporting to corporate partners. Support corporate partnership acquisitions through cultivation and stewardship strategies.

  • Project Administration: Provide administrative support to Associate Director of Development for membership and corporate sponsorship programs. Execute donor stewardship plans for members and corporate partners, in partnership with TPA colleagues

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and one year of work experience in development, nonprofit management, administrative assistance, special events, or a related field.

  • Project management experience including planning and implementing significant short- and long-term projects.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Word, Outlook, and Excel; Slack; Zoom.

  • Demonstrated experience with data entry and databases.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Professional appearance and demeanor.

  • Proven ability to effectively maintain productive relationships and deliver valued services to multiple stakeholders with different requirements.

  • Demonstrated positive attitude, flexibility with working assignments, and a willingness to learn and adapt.

  • Self-starter and problem solver.

  • Successful in collaborative team environments.

  • Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proven ability to identify needs and make appropriate decisions while working independently.

  • Excellent customer service skills with experience maintaining customer focus and implementing continuous quality improvements.

  • Must maintain strict confidentiality related to donors, clients, staff, and other organizational information.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the necessity and value of accuracy and attention to detail; ability to process information with high levels of accuracy.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
    • 3 or more years of experience.

    • Experience working in a performing arts or cultural organization.

    • Experience working in a large, complex enterprise such as a research university or large non-profit or governmental organization.

    • A minimum of two years of experience in assisting a fundraising or development. program or providing complex program support.

    • Demonstrated track record of managing fundraising efforts and events.

    • Special event/gala management experience.

    • Proofreading and data review experience.

    • Working knowledge of UT Austin's policies and procedures.

    • Experience with the UT VIP database, Paciolan ticketing system, Salesforce, email building software (Eloqua), or other similar systems for donor record management and performance ticketing.

    • Interest in and strong commitment to the mission and programs of Texas Performing Arts.

    • Familiarity with the Austin, Texas arts, cultural, entertainment, and events landscape.

    • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems within standardized policies and procedures.

    Driving Required

    This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).

    Salary Range

    $55,000 + depending on qualifications

    Working Conditions
    • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation. Prolonged screen time.

    • Physically able to lift and carry objects up to 40 pounds.

    • Works independently and unsupervised on a regular basis.

    • Work collaboratively as member of a team with people of varied backgrounds.

    Work Shift
    • Standard 9am - 5pm office hours.

    • Early morning, evening and weekend work is required in relation to performances and special events. A compensatory time program is provided.

    • Occasional work-related travel may be required.
