The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Reporting to the Program Manager for Student Life, Inclusion & Belonging, the Project Coordinator provides support for key University Life programs and initiatives focused on inclusion & belonging. This position provides administrative and logistical support for events in the Graduate Initiative for Inclusion & Engagement, the Community Citizenship Initiative, and Dialogue Across Differences (DxD) Campus Conversations. This role requires an individual with a demonstrated passion for DEI, strong coordination skills, and the ability to swiftly adapt to changing needs, while effectively managing data collection and processing.

Responsibilities



  • Support the Program Manager for Inclusion and Belonging by providing strategic and administrative assistance for The Graduate Initiative for Inclusion and Engagement Program, including generating program ideas, coordinating logistics, managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring timely and effective execution of plans.
  • Collaborate with university departments, student organizations, and community partners to enhance program impact and foster an inclusive campus culture.
  • Serve as secondary support and a thought partner to the First Year Experience Coordinator in managing aspects of University Life programs and initiatives, including the Pre-Orientation tutorials and the Community Citizenship Initiative. This will range from workshop support and facilitation, to managing student inquiries, and reviewing training content.
  • Provide logistical support for Student Life Initiatives including Welcome Week, Ambassador Program, DxD Campus Conversations, and Well-Being programming.
  • Partner with the Student Life team, on the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of students serving as University Life Ambassadors. Serve as interim advisor for student organizations on University policies and procedures, as well as event management
  • Manage communication needs for events related to inclusion & belonging, including creating registration links, updating web pages, drafting content, and designing social media assets with Canva or similar tools.
  • Additional duties and projects as assigned, including backup support for other team functions, such as orientation programs and signature events.


This position will require some evening hours during the semester, and very occasional (i.e. 2-3 times per week) weekend work.

Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of two-four relevant experience required.
  • Demonstrated interest and commitment in issues related to inclusion & belonging in higher education.
  • Proven experience in project coordination or management, preferably in higher education.
  • Strong data collection, analysis, and processing skills.
  • The ability to work independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The right candidate is patient, solutions-oriented, and enjoys working with others to build community. Exercises sound judgment and maintains a sense of humor and enjoys working in a dynamic environment.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience in events development and implementation.
  • Skilled in building and maintaining relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to move or lift supplies for events.
  • Experience working in a higher education setting with a diverse student body and knowledge of issues related to the student experience in higher education required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • A culturally responsive professional who demonstrates the ability to communicate across differences and interpersonally with a wide range of stakeholders and can grasp differing viewpoints with humility. Interest and experience in designing and implementing high-quality activities, programs, and services for students.
  • Proficient with MS Office, Google Suite.
  • Proficiency with Canva is a plus.
