The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Systems Administrator implements, maintains, and administers the WWP on-premises and cloud infrastructure services. The Systems Administrator supports existing infrastructure and develops future infrastructure services to enable the organization to scale and operate more efficiently.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install, configure, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain both existing and new Microsoft Windows server and client operating systems.

  • Install, configure, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain both existing and new infrastructure hardware and technologies, such as servers, storage, virtualization, and backups.

  • Provide installation and configuration support for data centers and offices.

  • Provide support to help desk technical staff regarding system administration and usage.

  • Consult with business analysts, developers, engineers, administrators, and end users regarding current and prospective system changes and future needs and advise.

  • Oversee and guide the efforts of technicians as they diagnose and resolve system-related failures and perform system management activities.

  • Identify logical solutions to complex system administration and application problems.

  • Demonstrate initiative in conducting research and staying current with the latest technologies and solutions.

  • Analyze existing operations and recommend improvements.

  • Collaborate with hardware vendors and service providers to identify and resolve problems and issues.

  • Prepare and maintain systems documentation.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Strong working understanding of Microsoft server roles and features, e.g., Active Directory, DHCP, DFS, DNS, File, IIS, NPS, and Print.

  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and diagnose and resolve problems and issues. Passionate about technology and solving IT operations-focused problems.

  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively as a team member, identify and resolve problems, and achieve goals and objectives.

  • Proven capability to work independently and take initiative to drive projects to completion.

  • Established success in working well under pressure while managing multiple projects and deadlines. Excellent organizational skills with the flexibility to quickly adapt to changing priorities in an evolving and fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills. Proven capability to effectively engage with users across a range of skill levels.

  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 administration.

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise confidentiality and good judgment when working with sensitive issues.

  • Ability to effectively contribute to a positive work environment and to the overall team effort in the department and organization.

  • Ability to establish credibility, be decisive, influence others, and effect change.

EXPERIENCE

Requirements

  • Three years of experience working with Microsoft Windows server operating systems and Active Directory.

  • Three years of experience maintaining a high-availability environment with regular backups and a disaster recovery plan.

  • Two years of experience administering Microsoft Office 365 suite of tools and systems (e.g. Exchange, OneDrive, Teams).

Preferences

  • Three years of experience working with software and hardware vendors.

  • Two years of experience overseeing the day-to-day operations and maintenance of Microsoft Azure or other cloud-based environments

  • Two years of experience with workflow automation via PowerShell or other scripting tools.

  • Two years of experience working with any of the following: Workday, Okta, SolarWinds, LogicMonitor, ManageEngine, Nutanix, VMware, SCCM, Intune, PowerShell, Teams Voice, SQL.

EDUCATION

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. Equivalent combination of applicable education, training, certification, and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Technology certifications, e.g., Azure Administrator Associate, M365 Teams Administrator Associate, M365 Messaging Administrator Associate, M365 Security Administrator Associate, M365 Endpoint Administrator Associate.

  • ITIL Foundation Certification.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • General office environment; temperature controlled.

  • Sitting for extended periods.

  • May require lifting/carrying items up to 20 pounds.

  • Up to 10% travel.
