Job Description

Position Overview

Portfolio & Program manager is responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of Strategic Portfolios and the successful execution of the corresponding projects within the portfolio, while remaining aligned with strategy, commitments, and goals of the PMO and the organization.

Responsibilities
1. Manage Project Managers and potentially other roles/resources, and vendor resources including budget responsibility for their portfolio, define the roadmap, liaison with the business as a partner, and drive technical strategy with the technical owners.
2. Works with internal and external partners on an IT Portfolio tower (Dynamics 365) to oversee the overall portfolio and project definition, planning, execution, and control of multiple large or highly complex projects to successful completion. Serves as liaison between project team members, business partners and technical resources.
3. Establishes work plans for the Portfolio, including program and project planning, resource management, test management (QA, UAT), release management, and value realization
4. Accountable for overall delivery of portfolio, while managing programs/projects on an as needed basis, and assigning tasks, goals and responsibilities to project team members for research and development, budgeting, and scheduled delivery.
5. Conduct top-down and bottom-up analysis of project/portfolio budget, determine and track performance of Portfolio and projects using standardized KPIs
6. Ability to build roadmaps and resource plans for multi-year initiatives with Business Users and IT Functional owners, conduct impact analysis, and identify creative opportunities for the Business/IT to add additional value towards achieving strategic goals
7. Tracks progress, updates portfolio and project management software and communication log with deliverables and artifacts created during project execution.
8. Reports issues, delays, and/or developments that may slow or alter course of project completion, escalates problems as appropriate to management and clients. Proactively identifies, builds mitigation strategies, and communicates expeditiously
9. Adheres to project related governance processes and facilitates the sharing of resources, methodologies and tools, and assists with augmenting policies, controls, and processes established or revised by the PMO, and within the overall IT organization.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, 6-10 years of program and project management experience and 5-7 years of IT experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3-4 years' experience working with ERP and CRM tools like Dynamics 365 and integrations associated with Dynamics
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
  • Agile Certification (CSM or similar) preferred, with strong experience in running a lean agile shop and robust testing methodology (environments, build and release strategy, CI/CD, automation)
  • Travels to projects sites to document current state of operations and assess site needs and/or updates (less than 20%).

Pay Ranges
$114,013.00 - $190,020.00

This range is based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate's skills, experience, and geographic location, the expected quality and quantity of work, and internal pay alignment, as needed. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the pay range. The upper end of the range will generally be reserved for candidates with extensive experience. An employee's pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law. In addition to monetary compensation, we offer benefits, including Medical/Dental/Vision insurance and Company-matching 401(k) in addition to other programs and perks.
