Who we are looking for:

We are currently looking for a Shipping Manager. You will be responsible for leading the shipping team. Your team will ensure the delivery of finished product is one time and accurate.

What you'll do:



  • Identify safety and work procedures; prepare work schedules and expedite workflow.
  • Examine work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Review pipe orders to determine truckload space/percentage and if a fill is needed.
  • Coordinate product needs with Production Manager/Plant Manager as while as CSR.
  • Prepare daily shipping schedule and freight rates for the carriers and follow up to ensure the loads are covered.
  • Invoice all shipments and create shipping document such as BOL and Packing Lists.


What you'll bring:



  • Associate degree and minimum of 3 year of related experience and/or training in the field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Safety, time management, planning and detailed organizational skills.
  • Effective decision making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Shipping/material handling experience with knowledge of shipping and receiving principles, practices and procedures including experience working with shipping and receiving database/software.


Within 3 months, you'll:



  • Complete your Atkore immersion program.
  • Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy.
  • Gain an understanding of your team.
  • Gain an understanding of the training materials and procedures your team owns.


Within 6-months, you'll:



  • Update training materials and procedures.
  • Partner with Safety and HR to investigate and provide corrective measures for on-the-job accidents, injuries, production issues, and HR issues.
  • Identify ways to strengthen the team's commitment to Atkore's core values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect and Excellence.


Within 12-months, you'll:



  • Be managing an efficient team that delivers Atkore's strategy.
  • Create and update reports, training materials and documentation.
  • Have meaningful performance conversations with your direct reports.
  • Be able to resolve any issues quickly and safely
