Research Assistant Professor - Carbonate Sedimentologist/Stratigrapher

Description

General
This is a position at J.J. Pickle Research Campus in North Austin.

Purpose
RCRL is seeking a carbonate sedimentologist/stratigrapher who specializes in subsurface characterization in addition to outcrop and modern analogue characterization using state-of-the-science remote sensing techniques and traditional field mapping.

Responsibilities



  • Perform research in the field of carbonate reservoir characterization using both subsurface data (e.g. seismic, rock cores, well log, etc.) and outcrop and modern analogues.
  • Visit current and potential sponsors to maintain and increase RCRL funding
  • Supervise RCRL graduate students and postdoctoral researchers.
  • Present research results at national and international conferences; teach workshops, lead field trips.


Required Qualifications
PhD in geosciences.

Preferred Qualifications
PhD and at least 5 years of experience in academia or related industry.

Salary
$100,000 depending on qualifications
