Division of Facilities Services

Job Summary

Serve as University's executive level senior administrator for Facilities Services, Environmental Health and Safety, and Planning, Design and Construction. Provide operational, programmatic and decision-making support in all facets of strategic planning and internal procedures related to Facilities Services to support University vision and mission. Direct and coordinate overall budgeting, facilities planning, and management processes to ensure streamlined, efficient and effective operations for multi-faceted external and internal departments involved. Provide University with well-designed, safe, reliable, and functioning physical learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and direction for the operational management, strategic planning, internal procedures and controls
  • Supervise departments within Facilities Services
  • Establish budget guidelines, prepare annual operating budget and gain approval
  • Implement and allocate resources according to budget allocation
  • Consult and coordinate with University officials on matters of policy, interdivisional interaction, and capital improvement
  • Establish goals and objectives to support the President, Vice Presidents, Deans, Directors, and Department Chairs to ensure support of the University's mission
  • Organize and manage Division through proper planning and policy formulation to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency
  • Advise Vice President for Business and Finance on Institutional policies and procedures related to the management of University's physical resources
  • Lead in the development and support of a campus-wide energy management program
  • Lead team members to drive toward customer service excellence
  • Collect data to prepare Division Annual Report for Vice President for Business and Finance
  • With Vice President, lead in developing Institutional list of capital projects and major repair and renovation (MRR) priorities
  • Maintain updated University Facility Master Plan
  • Coordinate working relationships with city and county officials on a variety of Facilities Services issues
  • Provide leadership and supervision to Division management
  • Interview, train, plan, assign and direct work for Facilities Services teams
  • Perform performance evaluations and guide professional development
  • Lead Division team members to follow all Federal, State, local laws
  • Train Division team members to adhere to safety and other risk management policies in performance of work


Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience
  • Ten (10) or more years of related work experience
  • Supervisory experience


Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Education Facilities Professional credentials or similar

Preferred Educational Qualifications
  • Master's Degree

Preferred Experience
  • Six (6) or more years of related work experience
  • Prior experience in University Facilities environments


Proposed Salary

Commensurate with Experience

This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
